MWF
The
MWF was designed to work with the high pressure water system included
in the 2005 GE SmartWater™ refrigerators. GE recommeds the use of
only the MWF in its high pressure water system refrigerators. However,
the MWF is backward compatible with all other GE SmartWater™ refrigerators
prior to 2005 and GE Water by Culligan refrigerators. The MWF Smartwater™ Water Filter replaces the GWF and FXRC water filters.(Sears number
for this filter is 9905 or 46-9905.)

Adapter
This
adapter is necessary when replacing the silver Culligan type filters
(FXRC, HXRT, FXRT, MXRC). It is reusable.

replace this filter, you'll need to use the adapter. There are a
few rare cases where the GWF + adapter doesn't fit well (the culligan
